London Attractions

Sightseeing in London is kaleidoscopic. It's a glorious jumble of past and present, a 1000 years of history whizzing past your eyes as you try to take it all in. To avoid being overwhelmed by all London has to offer, try and focus on the areas that mean the most to you. So what if Tate Modern is considered a 'must see' in the guidebook - if you can't bear modern art, what's the point? Or if you love cutting-edge London, with its hip designers and state-of-the-art new buildings, you may find queuing up to see the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace really isn't your thing.

Pick of the Pops
The beauty of London is that it appeals to so many levels of interest; there is always something special you want to do. For some, it's making a Beatles pilgrimage to Abbey Road, for others it's a day in the British Museum, and for someone else it will coming face to face with Winston Churchill at Madame Tussaud's. What's your favorite London?

Tour-ism
A good way to find out is to get an overview with a tour. London has wonderful tours. There are the open-topped, double-decker bus tours with commentary and ' hop on, hop off' policy that lets you see whatever you like, Thames boat cruises, some of which that go all the way down to Greenwich or up to Kew Gardens, special black cab tours or amphibious 'duck' tours, that take you on land and in the river. You can tour on foot or in a chauffer-driven limo - you can even see London by helicopter. For the best view of London go for a ride on the London Eye and all will be revealed.

City Treasures
London has some of the best museums in the world, and they are anything but dull. Just try getting the kids out of the Science Museum, or the London Transport Museum! There are always exhibitions on, from the Royal Academy's famous 'Summer Exhibition' to the blockbuster shows at the V&A or National Portrait Gallery. Discover hidden gems like the Wallace Collection and the Sir John Soane Museum.

Green Spaces
If all that sightseeing gets tiring, why not relax outdoors in one of London's scenic parks? Go boating on the Serpentine in Hyde Park, pay homage to Princess Diana at Kensington Gardens, check out the wildlife at the London Zoo in Regent's Park, or hire a lounge chair for that rare moment of sunbathing in Green Park. Picnic under ancient chestnut trees in Hampstead Heath or watch the deer in historic Richmond Park. No other city has such a wide variety of inner city parks to relax in.

So whether you're off to watch the Changing of the Guards, to view your favorite Holbein at the National Portrait Gallery, to go for a scary adventure at the Chamber of Horrors, or check out a WWII Spitfire at the Imperial War Museum, let Luxury Travel show you the way to your favorite London.
