Copa Telmex - February 2010 - Festival - Various
The third stop of the four-tournament Latin American swing, the famed outdoor clay courts, known as the “Cathedral of Argentinean tennis“ sets the stage for the annual Copa Telmex. Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival - March 2010 - Festival - Various

One of the key events in the city's annual cultural calendar, the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival attracts hundreds of local and international musicians. Performances take place in theaters, parks, and cultural venues through the capital and include talented musicians such as saxophonist James Moody, the Terence Blanchard Quintet, the Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the local porteño favourite, the trumpeter Roberto 'Fats' Fernández.

Military Parade - May 2010 - Parade - Various
In 1999, a military parade marking the 189th anniversary of the Revolucion de Mayo took place after a 10-year absence. This memorable parade has been reinstated as an annual event and has become a firm tradition with soldiers parading past the Casa de Gobierno amid cheers from exciting on-lookers.

Feria de Galerías de Arte - 22 until 26 May - Festival - Predio Ferial de Palermo

Optica Festival - 27 until 29 August - Festival - Various

World Tango Festival - 7 until 10 October - Festival - Various
A week-long tango celebration featuring nightly performances including the spectacular opening and closing shows with the Great Masters' concerts. The energetic Buenos Aires Video-Dance Festival takes place at the General San Martín Cultural Centre. This year's festival has two categories: video-dance as an art form and documentaries on dance. First played in 1893 the Polo Argentine Open boasts the title as the fifth-oldest polo competition in the world. Fans flock to Campo Argenti no de Polo to marvel at this spectacular event. As popular for people-watching as sport this event has something for everyone.

National Tango Day - 11 December - Festival - Various

Each year on December 11th tango reigns, commemorating the birthday of the great tango singer Carlos Gardel, who was tragically killed in a plane crash in 1935 (his statue can be seen outside the Abasto Market in Buenos Aires).
