Exotissimo is a local tour company that provides luxurious tours for visitors who want to immerse themselves in the magnificent cultural experiences of Cambodia while still enjoying all of the perks discriminating travellers expect. The “Culture & Cuisine” excursion is six days of delicious food, lavish hotels, and ancient discoveries. It begins with a relaxing Khmer massage at Amara Spa in Phnom Penh, followed by dinner at one of the city’s top restaurants. Watch Monkeys Play in the Rainforest
Outdoor adventurers will love Taman Negara National Park, the most famous of its kind in Malaysia. The 434,300 hectares of primary rainforest, dating back 130 million years, is a playground for elephants, rhinos, tigers, gibbons, leopards, and many more animal species. You can choose short jungle walks to view the animals and impressive vegetation—including orchids you may not see anywhere else—or a more challenging nine-day trek to Gunung Tahan, the 2,187-metre peak that’s the highest on the Malaysian peninsula. You can also explore caves, stand next to waterfalls, shoot the rapids, fish, or go on a boat cruise. Thanks to the accommodations at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, you can plan to spend at least a couple of days here. The resort offers several different accommodation choices, such as upscale bungalows with multiple bedrooms or refined yet rustic chalets.

Fall in Love With Laos
For the most part, Laos has resisted the siren song of modern development, which gives visitors a true taste of traditional life. But because it’s so underdeveloped, it’s easy to miss some of the jewels of this former French colony. To help guests get an authentic view of the country, Diethelm Travel has organized a variety of private tours, including the five-day Classic Laos Tour, which gives you an inside look at the culture, arts, and landscape. Starting in Luang Prabang, often referred to as the crown jewel of Laos, you’ll first visit awe-inspiring temples and shrines and watch the sun set over the Mekong River. Day two includes a journey to Vat Xieng Thong, considered the most beautiful temple in the country; a boat trip on the Mekong; and a side trip to a traditional weaving village. The remainder of the itinerary includes a trek to the Khuang Xi Waterfall and its clear pools for swimming; tours of native villages; time at the National Museum, where the former King’s Palace teems with displays of personal artifacts of the Royal Family; important landmarks; and the Morning Market, which holds a stunning collection of silks, metal work, and woodcarvings.

Discover Thailand’s Elephants
Perhaps nowhere in the world are elephants as revered as in Thailand; they’re even a symbol of the monarchy, and the king has exclusive rights to all elephants judged to be white. Because these intelligent creatures are so respected in Thailand, their numbers are relatively high, and visitors have many great opportunities to learn about them and even get up close and personal with a few. A good place to start is the Elephant Conservation Center near Lampang, whose mission is to rehabilitate and care for injured and older elephants, though it also provides a wonderfully interactive environment. Guests here can see an elephant show, ride an elephant, and even take part in one- to three-day training courses where they learn the finer points of elephant riding and accompany “their” elephant during river baths and trips into the forest for food. Some of the most luxurious hotels also offer elephant-related activities. One of the best is the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, which has a four-night camp experience where participants learn how to care for and drive an elephant and then trek with the huge animals through amazing jungles.
