Kempinski Hotels and Resorts expands its portfolio of luxurious properties in South America, signing the management contract for a new-build hotel in Patagonia, Argentina, to soft-open in December 2004, with the grand opening planned in Autumn 2005.
The Patagonia Park Plaza Kempinski Hotel is a low-rise building with two spectacular clock towers, centrally located on a 4000 m² landscaped site, overlooking Calafate Mountain and with views of the Andes, in the city of El Calafate, national captial of the glaciers in Argentinean Patagonia. El Calafate is celebrated as an area of exceptional beauty and is the gateway to the many tours of this natural wonderland.
There are 78 rooms with either lake and Andes or Calafate Mountain views and four deluxe suites, each with double-sized whirlpool bath and Scottish shower. There will be a 200 seat restaurant with panoramic views, serving traditional local cuisine, a lobby bar, new generation PC units throughout the hotel, leisure facilities and plasma screens for sport and news coverage.
