In the Middle Ages this castle belonged to the ancestors of the ancient noble Montanini Family. Its coat of arms relates to its history well - a red shield, like the earth that surrounds it, a black lion, symbol of courage and battles, glory and defeat . Historical chronicles in fact report that it was a place of refuge and protection for Ghibelline troops.

By Car
Follow directions for rome on the A1-E35 - continue forward and then take the exit for Firenze-Certosa. At the roundabout take the exit for Siena - Firenze on the highway junction, continuing towards Siena - Colle di Val d'Elsa. Take the exit for road SP70 - continue straight ahead keeping to your right, then follow the signs for Colle di Val d'Elsa - Casole d-Elsa. Turn right onto road SP70. At the roundabout take the exit for road SP5, then turn right onto Strada del Casone - continue ahead and then turn right onto road SP74 - Strada di Svolta. Turn left onto Strada di Bigozzi where you will find Relais Castel Bigozzi.
By Shuttle and Public Transport
Take the Sita shuttle service from the airport to the centre of Florence - change at the bus terminal for the shuttle that goes directly to Siena - this stops at Colle di Val d-Elsa - from there call the hotel to arrange a taxi pick up in the centre of town.
