In the 18th century the building was embellished by the frescoes (the work of the students of the famous artist Gianbattista Tiepolo) which now adorn the sumptuous Marco Polo drawing room. Recent works, completed in 1992, has restored the building to its former splendour. To maintain high quality standards each year renovations are made, the last ones enhanced the hotel with new suites with wonderful views over the St. Mark's waterfront.The 108 rooms, including the suites, are furnished with antique pieces combined with every modern comfort. For those wanting to really splurge the recently refurbished 12 suites and 10 junior suites, offering either marvellous views over the St. Mark's waterfront and fitted out with spacious terraces.

The warm, extremely elegant "Canova Restaurant" (winner of the "Fogher d'Oro" award and "Gambero Rosso" award) is designed to hold up to 80 guests. The chef offers exquisite cuisine, including some of the most famous traditional dishes from the Veneto region. An international menu is also available.
