Hotel Introduction

Designed by the celebrated Philippe Starck—and drawing inspiration from Alan Faena—the Faena Hotel & Universe encompasses a delightfully contradictory spirit: a love of lavish extravagance and a commitment to providing entirely functional items for guests’ use. Instead of a run-of-the-mill chair, for example, the Faena has installed gold leaf swan chairs in the rooms, making it easy to get swept away by the Belle Époque ambience in this luxury hotel.

The Faena Hotel & Universe goes far beyond the facilities of other upscale hotels. In addition to offering an opulent place to spend the night, it caters to guests’ needs for fun and relaxation through a truly dazzling pool, a blissful spa offering every therapy imaginable, a relaxing Turkish bath, two delectable restaurants, an onsite boutique for your shopping pleasure, an intimate live theatre venue for private performances, and a cellar that boasts the largest collection of wine in the country.

The assortment of rooms and suites at the hotel come with a range of amenities, but they all are decorated in a modern opulence that’s reminiscent of Imperial style, with elements such as red velvet curtains, dark wood, and light sandstone. Glass-and-marble bathrooms with a separate shower, a home theatre with surround sound, and Internet connection are just a few of the luxuries that come standard. The Faena Suite is the most impressive room in the collection, featuring cherry furnishings, three plasma TVs, spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi and rain shower, kitchen, library, and dining room.

Dining
El Mercado is a wondrous journey through traditional Argentine cuisine. The sophisticated dishes are balanced by a rustic ambience of wooden floors, brick walls, and an adobe mud oven. The stunningly white El Bistro, accented with gold and splashes of red, is an ideal destination for sophisticated, modern cuisine. While it encourages a casual, low-key attitude in its clientele, the refined Library Lounge is in fact decorated in exquisite style, with a glittering chandelier, rich leather couches and chairs, and high-end materials. Its teatime menu is traditionally English with a touch of Argentinean flavour. The Pool Bar serves fresh fruit juices and cocktails to guests who are enjoying the loungers beside the swimming pool. The Cellar is a striking space for private dinners or wine tastings. Numbering over 400 bottles, the hotel’s own cellar has the largest collection of wines in Argentina, which are housed within a space whose décor includes brick walls, massive pillars, and a grand chandelier.

Spa
The spacious and well-equipped fitness centre features all of the cardiovascular and weight machines you would expect in a top gym, televisions to entertain you, holistic routines such as yoga and tai chi, and superb personal trainers. The spa itself is a remarkable environment that combines up-to-the-minute techniques with centuries-old wellness therapies such as mediation and Pranic healing. Choose from a generous menu of massages, facials, baths, or services from the beauty lounge. A deluxe hammam and garden-set swimming pool are also among the amenities.

Hotel Features
As interesting as anything you’ll find at the Faena is what you won’t find: a reception desk or concierge. Here, those mundane agents have been replaced by “experience managers” (every guest is assigned three) who are responsible for attending to guests’ needs at the beginning and end of the stay, as well as every second in between.

Meetings
Four function spaces are available to host both professional and social gatherings. In addition to the picturesque Library Lounge, El Bistro, and pool area, the Faena’s Ballroom provides a multi-functional facility able to accommodate up to 280 reception guests. It’s also equipped with state-of-the-art audio, visual, and Wi-Fi technology.

Location
Located in El Porte Building, the Faena Hotel and Universe affords the prime position in the heart of the City, Puerto Madero Este, steps from Costanera Sur. This stylish hotel is within close proximity to the historical neighborhood of San Telmo, with cobblestone streets, original milongas, and antique shops.

5.5 miles from J. Newbery AeroPark Airport
17 miles from Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport
1.7 miles from Retiro Train Station
Transfers to the hotel can be arranged through the hotel concierge.
A fee will be charged where applicable.
