Hotel Introduction

The Hotel Balzac was created in 1853 for the director of the Paris Opera, and today it welcomes guests into an elegant, dignified ambience that features classic elements like period furniture, as well as subtly incorporated technology. Completely revamped by interior designer Anne-Marie Sabatier, the magnificent neo-Classical décor and vivid hues draw people into the interior, while the exterior is highlighted by colourful flower boxes in every window and charming dormers.

The expansive lobby makes an immediate impression with marble floors, original paintings, and glittering chandeliers. The atrium lounge and bar is the next example of the sophisticated, discreet world of the Balzac; arches, flowers, and a granite-topped bar are a peaceful refuge from the outside world. The exclusive Pierre Gagnaire restaurant is also among the hotel’s facilities.

The hotel’s 70 guestrooms and suites feature a modern décor produced by light colours complemented by bold touches of turquoise and raspberry. Oak entryways, light wood accents, large canopied beds, high-speed Internet access, plasma flat-screen TVs, and CD/DVD players are standard amenities. The marble bathrooms are equally decadent, boasting rain showers and Molton Brown toiletries. True luxury can be found in the Royal Suite, with an astonishing view of the Eiffel Tower from its private balcony, and the Presidential Suite, which feels like a hotel lounge.

Dining
Parisians in the know are aware that you must make reservations a month in advance for the exquisite Pierre Gagnaire restaurant. Guests of the hotel, however, can get carry-out meals from the gourmet restaurant. Another dining option can be found in the atrium lounge and bar, a lovely venue whose lunch and dinner menus deliver perfectly executed favourites and comfort foods. The Lounge itself is a delight for the eyes, with a glass ceiling, hanging garden, plush sofas, and incredible floral arrangements. Guests can also indulge in a cigar, one of the numerous whiskeys and wines at the granite-topped bar, or a signature cocktail.

Spa
The Balzac has partnered with the luxurious new Spa Payot to offer guests access to the nearby facility’s pool, fitness centre, relaxation room, and massage services.

Hotel Features
The Hotel Balzac, originally a 19th-century mansion house, is themed on the famous writer with which it shares its name. The romance of the hotel, the antique book collection, and the lithographs portraying the writer and scenes from his books are all an homage to Honoré de Balzac, who once called the place home.

Meetings
The hotel includes three salons designed specifically for intimate meetings and private dinners. Each accommodating six to 10 guests, the salons incorporate the latest technology, as well as offer a supremely comfortable, elegant atmosphere.

Location
A stone’s throw from the renowned tree-lined thoroughfare of Champs-Elysées and only 200 meters from the world-famous Arc de Triomphe, the Hotel Balzac is the perfect base from which to explore some of the finest addresses Paris has to offer.

2.5 miles from Gare du Nord, Eurostar Station
20.4 miles from Charles de Gaulle Airport
