Hotel Introduction

Dating back to the early 19th-century, Villa Le Scale was once home to the Barons Monti Della Corte, whose family represents the union of two noble lines. This Neoclassical-style building is one of the few original Caprian Villas of that era still intact. The present owner, a distinguished antiquarian and noted art collector, has painstakingly restored the villa with delicate workmanship and exquisite interior decoration.  The original structure has been enriched with contemporary features, but the mansion still holds all the fabled charm of Capri.
Guests will enjoy wandering through the enchanting secret garden, before enjoying cocktails on their private terrace, or a leisurely walk along the path from the Blue Grotto to Punta Carena, followed by a boat trip around the many rocky creeks, caves and bays.

Dining
Light lunch and snacks are available by the swimming pool, in the garden or in the Villa Le Scale lounge. Dinner is on request only. All food is prepared using the freshest seasonal produce available and made from traditional Mediterranean recipes. There is an array of fine-dining restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and the well-connected concierge has contacts at some of the finest dining rooms on Capri, so getting a table for dinner is never difficult.

Hotel Features
The six elegant suites, all with period furnishings, bear suggestive names from the world of art and travel: the Artist's Suite, the Collector's Suite, the Oriental, the Venetian, the Voyager and the Louis XVI.  The en-suite bathrooms are spacious and, depending on the theme of their room, have either a Turkish bath, plunge pool, duplex shower or jacuzzi.

The villa has its own lunch bar and a full range of facilities - including tennis courts, heated swimming pool, solarium and hydro-massage - all blending harmoniously with the original décor. The well-manicured “Secret Garden”, a myriad of vibrant colors and sweet-smelling scents from pine, palm and pomegranate trees, magnolias, roses, hydrangeas, passion-flowers, and hibiscus, has been tenderly fashioned to create a relaxing and serene sanctuary.

Meetings and Events
Villa Le Scale with its tiered gardens, including its Secret Garden is recognized as a fairytale wedding venue. The entire villa, complete with staff, can be exclusively hired for up to a week. The Villa's gardens and gazebo can accommodate up to 60 guests for a cocktail reception and up to 45 guests for a sit down banquet. There are two preset menus to choose from, however, the Villa's chef will also be happy to work with clients on customized menus.

Location
For those wishing to explore the area, the museum of Villa San Michele, the chair lift leading to Monte Solaro, and the church of San Michele in the heart of historic centre, are all within easy reach. From the island day trips can be made to Naples, to visit the Monastery of Santa Chiara, Piazza S Domenico Maggiore, S. Gregorio Armeno, the Palazzo of the Historic Centre, and subterranean Naples , to the archaeological sites of Pompei, and to the towns of the spectacular Amalfi Coast.

Capri can be reached from Naples or Sorrento by frequent daily ferry or hydrofoil services. Helicopter or Limousine transfers from or to the airport of Naples and Rome are available on request.
