Hotel Introduction
This four star hotel was once the long running home of a prominent Venetian family and it celebrates its aristocratic roots. The historical residence maintains a water entrance, displays exposed beams and Venetian flooring, and boasts art that was commissioned by the 113th Doge of Venice, Carlo Ruzzini.

Expect the rich reds of tradition decorating the walls, along with embellished furniture, Murano glass chandeliers, frescoed ceilings and marble floors, but don't be surprised by ultramodern touches. The Ruzzini Palace thrives on the juxtaposition of old and new, and the rococo gilt Venetian mirror vies for attention with the ultramodern headboard. The hotel bar is outright modern and a testament to smooth, rounded corners, pure whites and warm woods.

Built throughtout the Renaissance and Baroque periods, the existing refurbishment nods to its past by reinstating the 'portego', a lounge stretching the entire side wing of the residence which holds paintings by Gregorio Lazzarini. The hotel overlooks the Campo Santa Maria Formosa, and on the other side the Rio del Paradiso.

Business guests can take advantage of the stylish meeting room, including wi-fi connection, large flat screen television and DVD, overhead projector and video conferencing services. The meeting room can comfortably hold 16-20 guests around the boardroom table.

The main floor of the Ruzzini Palace has a grand reception hall, ideal for gala events. During the Venetian festivities of the Regatta, the hall of the Ruzzini Palace plays host to performers of classical music concerts, artists, and theatrical comedies.

From Venice's Marco Polo airport, the Ruzzini Palace can be reached by water taxi or by Alilaguna water bus - both of which take about an hour - or contact the hotel for a private transfer. The nearest public water bus stop is Rialto, which is 300 metres from the hotel.
