The Westin Europa and Regina, Venice

Hotel Introduction
The Westin Europa Regina is formed by five interconnecting canalside residences, moments away from the touristic centre of Venice, St Mark's Square. The central residence was the home of Giambattista Tiepolo, one of the city's most famous artists, and it is a fitting homage that the hotel walls are lined with art, the floors laid with intricate marble designs and the ceilings dripping with Murano glass chandeliers.

Each of the individual buildings has a slightly different feel. Original features have been renovated and enhanced with careful attention to historical detail. Each building then has a personality of its own, whether that be sumptuous Venetian, with bold colours, rich brocades and striped fabrics; or the more baroque feel of ornate furnishings, rich golden fabrics and a decidedly romantic atmosphere. You will definitely enjoy delicate glass light fixtures throughout your accommodations and a marble bathroom. Starwood's Heavenly Bed® comes as standard, too.

Guest rooms and suites may have canal, lagoon or courtyard views. Some of the grander upper floor suites have generous terraces affording exceptional vistas out over the lagoon and myriad architectural pleasures.

Dining
Locanda La Cusina, with a romantic canalside setting, serves lavish Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on regional flavours. It caters very well for special diets, too. In the warmer months, choose to sit on the terrace where you can watch the gondolas glide by and admire the baroque beauty of Santa Maria della Salute across the water.

The hotel bar, El Tiepolo, successfully manages to be a demure salon serving afternoon tea during daylight hours and a slick piano bar, complete with squishy sofas and American ambience, after dark. Light meals, snacks and drinks here are beautifully presented.

Location
The Hotel Westin Europa and Regina is located on the Grand Canal, with the cultural highlights of Venice just moments away, either on foot or by gondola. The Basilica San Marco, Palazzo dei Dogi and Bridge of Sighs are on the doorstep, as well as the glamorous shopping streets and fabulous restaurants which surround the side streets off St Mark's Square.

The hotel is centrally located in Venice and a private water taxi or public vaporetto service from Venice's Marco Polo airport will take up to 50 minutes, or 30 minutes from the Santa Lucia railway station. The nearest vaporetto stop is San Marco Vallaresso, a five minute walk from the Europa and Regina, but there's nothing quite like arriving at your hotel canalside, in true Venetian style.
