Pamalican Island, Palawan, Philippines
Amanpulo (peaceful island) is set on the private island of Pamalican, part of the Quiniluban Group, in the northern region of the Philippine province of Palawan. A low-lying coral island, Pamalican is covered with a sandy jungle of thickets and bush and rimmed by seven square kilometres of pristine reef. The island is 5 kilometres long and only 500 metres across at its widest point.
The Restaurant is located at the Clubhouse and extends onto a terrace with views to Manamoc Island across the channel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. The menu features Asian and Continental cuisine.
Situated on a hillside with views of the Sulu Sea, Aman Spa consists of a series of pavilions constructed of native wood and other natural materials. The Reception Pavilion includes a lounge and retail space on the entry level, and a Finishing Salon on the floor below for manicures, pedicures and hair appointments. Each treatment room offers a deep-soaking bath tub, washroom, dressing area and steam shower, along with magnificent sea views. The Yoga and Meditation Pavilion also enjoys beautiful views and is available for private or group classes. The Fitness Pavilion houses the Pilates Studio, a fully-equipped gymnasium, wet areas including steam rooms and cold plunge pools, and outdoor relaxation areas.
A garden walkway leads down from the pool to the white-sand beach, lined with shade umbrellas and reclining lounge chairs. This is the tranquil setting for Amanpulo’s Beach Club which features an open-air pavilion and deck scattered with mattresses and pillows. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, tapas and refreshments are offered with fresh seafood and Spanish cuisine a speciality.
Located on the east side of the island, the Lagoon Club serves as a second Beach Club with similar features and amenities. Dinner is served here and Vietnamese cuisine is a specialty.
The Windsurf Hut or Picnic Grove
Open for lunch, the Windsurf Hut or Picnic Grove offers a large variety of pizzas cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven. This is casual, feet-in-the-sand dining at its best.
The Library is stocked with novels in several languages, travel guides, newspapers, magazines and coffee-table books on Philippine art, design and culture. DVDs and CDs are also available.
Boutique and Galleries
Amanpulo’s three shops specialise in woven rugs, baskets, jewellery, pottery and other crafts from the Palawan region, as well as Asian antiques, furniture and resort wear.
Meetings & Events
The West Villa Clubhouse is ideal for private functions whether personal celebrations such as weddings and anniversaries, or corporate gatherings including board meetings and presentations. Theatre and audiovisual equipment is available.
Amanpulo on Pamalican is part of the Cuyo archipelago, located 288km south of Manila and boasting all the idyllic beauty of a tropical island retreat. Fringed by white sand beaches, turquoise waters and a coral reef, the entire island is dedicated to Amanpulo, and the facilities enjoy a spacious layout complementing their natural surroundings. The resort’s casitas enjoy a variety of settings – on the beach, amongst the treetops or on the hillside overlooking the Sulu Sea. Each guest casita has its own private buggy for travelling independently on the island.
