Hotel Introduction

Accommodations in Madrid don’t get more luxurious than the opulence that greets guests at the Ritz. Constructed at the request of King Alfonso XIII in 1910, many credit the soaring hotel with ushering in a new era for the capital city—one in which aristocrats, heads of state, and international luminaries can be welcomed in magnificent style. No detail has been overlooked, as you’ll discover upon entering the breathtaking lobby.

Gourmands are in for a treat at the Hotel Ritz Madrid. Some of the best dining in the city can be found in the spectacular Goya restaurant; guests can indulge in a traditional afternoon tea in the Lobby Bar; or how about dining outdoors on the Terrace, where the hotel gardens add a dazzling touch to every meal. Other impressive hotel facilities include a wellness centre with fitness and beauty options, five dramatic function spaces, and customized services and products for young guests.

The Ritz Madrid offers 137 rooms and 30 suites, each with a unique design. What remains the same in all rooms is the commitment to antique furniture, lavishly embroidered sheets, hand-woven rugs, and marble-and-gilt bathrooms. Satellite TV, Internet connectivity, and access to the Belmond video library are available for your entertainment. The Royal Suite lives up to its name with two large bathrooms, brass ornaments, glittering crystal chandeliers, priceless paintings and antiques, and an awe-inspiring Ming Dynasty vase.

The celebrated Goya Restaurant Madrid delivers gourmet Spanish fare that uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients to create both traditional and innovative dishes celebrating French and Basque influences in Spanish cooking. The excellent wine selections and attentive yet subtle service round out the experience. The Lobby Bar, with its refined atmosphere complemented by soft music, serves a delectable afternoon tea fit for a king, as well as light refreshments in the evening. The intimate Velasquez Bar is a chic destination for inventive cocktails and light repasts enjoyed in a low-key atmosphere. Head barman Marcelino Martin, a Ritz fixture since 1977, can ease you into the evening with exclusive creations like the “Goya” and “Alfonso XIII.”

Bodyna Wellness Centre incorporates elements that relax and rejuvenate body and spirit. The beautifully equipped fitness area and on-staff personal trainers help guests maintain their exercise regime. Afterward, unwind with a huge array of massages for men and women, facial and body therapies, manicures and pedicures, and beauty services.

Hotel Features
In the early 1900s, a young King Alfonso XIII returned from a European jaunt convinced that his capital city needed a hotel as impressive as the Ritz in Paris. His foresight led to the creation of the Hotel Ritz Madrid, whose construction was supervised by none other than legendary hotelier Cesar Ritz himself. It debuted in 1910 with His Majesty King Alfonso XIII in attendance.

The Ritz provides five stunning, individually designed function rooms that range in impression from intimate to grand. Up to 500 guests can gather for receptions or business meetings in the salones, as well as the lavish gardens. The experienced event planning team, chefs, and butlers will ensure that every detail has been attended to. In addition, a Business Centre offers professional tools and support services.

Ideally located in the cultural quarter of the City, the Hotel Ritz is superlatively sited between the picturesque Parque del Retiro, the renowned Teatro de la Zarzuela and celebrate Prado and  Thyssen-Bornemisza Museums.

Trains are available at the nearby Banco de Espańa or Atocha Stations.
12.9 miles from Madrid Barajas Airport.
Transfers to the hotel can be arranged through the hotel concierge.
A fee will be charged where applicable.
