Hotel Features
Built in 1939, the stylish brick facade building was originally a residential apartment owned by famed silent film star Lillian Gish. Maison 140's classic exterior, complete with dormers, potted topiaries and signature red-lacquered doors, serves as a warm welcome from the busy city just around the corner.

Each of the 43 guestrooms at Maison 140 is a unique creation unto itself. Interior designer Kelly Wearstler creates a powerful blend of texture, color and pattern for each individual guest space. Classic elements mix with Chinoiserie, 1920s styling and 1970s modernism to create a feel reminiscent of a Left Bank Parisian inn. One-of-a-kind antiques, custom furniture and fabrics are accented by Italian linens and bathrobes in each room. Thick, rich mohair throws are laid over occasional Louis XVI chairs for the regal feeling of lounging in a cozy home. Original artwork by Joshua Elias was commissioned for each room.
