Hotel Introduction
One of the most unique hotels in the entire country, Castle on the Hudson evokes the feeling of staying at a centuries-old fortress, while providing remarkable service and the latest amenities. This enchanting castle, just minutes outside of Manhattan, overlooks the Hudson River and boasts 11 acres of manicured gardens and awe-inspiring grounds.

In addition to the sumptuous décor and lovely architecture, the Castle contains a veritable wealth of amenities. Take advantage of the five-star, award-winning restaurant, Equus, and the equally celebrated wine cellar; in-room spa treatments, expansive fitness centre; breathtaking pool; and exceptional meeting and event facilities.

All of the luxurious rooms include goose down comforters, Frette linens, and plush bathrobes—plus high-tech amenities such as a Direct TV satellite system, an in-room movie system with new releases, and high-speed Internet access. For the ultimate experience, opt for the Tower Suites, which include four-poster beds, wood-burning fireplaces, marble bathrooms, turret alcoves, and stunning views of the Hudson River and Manhattan.

Dining
The hotel’s celebrated restaurant, Equus, combines innovative dining with a sophisticated ambience. The restaurant is comprised of three distinct dining rooms: the Tapestry Room features eye-catching embroideries and an ornately painted ceiling; the Garden Room offers gorgeous views of the Castle’s gardens, the Hudson River Valley, and the Manhattan skyline; and the legendary Oak Room, first owned by Louis XIV and transported intact to New York when the Castle was constructed. Sip your favourite beverage in the General’s Bar, or enjoy an al fresco meal on the charming outdoor terrace.

Spa
The Castle provides all of the treatments guests need to unwind and recharge. Trained therapists offer a variety of massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures in the comfort and privacy of your room. The hotel’s fitness centre provides a range of the latest cardiovascular and weight machines to ensure a great workout. For exercise or leisure, enjoy the huge outdoor pool that overlooks the Hudson.

Hotel Features
The Castle was constructed between 1897 and 1910 by General Carroll, the son of a Civil War general. Built to resemble Norman fortifications found in the British Isles, the grounds also feature a stone wall enclosure.

The hotel includes an award-winning wine cellar, which allows the restaurant to offer a wine menu of more than 600 international labels. Wine Enthusiast Magazine gave Equus an “Award of Unique Distinction” three years running, and it received the 2001 Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator for having one of the top restaurant wine lists in the world.

Meetings
Whether you need a luxurious space for business or social events, the Castle offers numerous facilities to accommodate any group. The elegant Great Hall hosts up to 200 people; the Caramai Room, with crystal chandeliers and artistic mouldings, holds up to 140 guests; the refined Library is ideal for intimate gatherings up to 30; and the restaurant is also available for group functions. The hotel provides tools such as a state-of-the-art audio system with wireless microphones and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access.
