Hotel Introduction

The exclusive Inn at Irving Place is so discreet that its name doesn’t appear on the front of the property. The two townhouses that make up the Inn were built in 1834 and have been painstakingly renovated to bring back the feeling of the golden era of fine living.

With just a dozen rooms to tend to, the service at the Inn at Irving Place is second to none. The concierge staff caters to every need—from arranging a day pass to a local gym to nailing down a reservation at a gourmet restaurant to coordinating limo service. Among the other luxuries at the hotel, it boasts one of the best tea salons in the country, an upscale lounge, European-style continental breakfast, and more.

The twelve guest rooms, junior suites, and residences are decorated with charming antiques that help recreate the gracious ambience of 19th century high society living. The amenities are designed for guests’ every comfort and include Frette bed and bath linens, Penhaligon’s bathroom amenities, Sony CD/radio/alarm or iPod docking station, and wireless Internet connection.

Dining
Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon is a delightful experience for anyone who enjoys the refined ritual of afternoon tea. Consistently ranked among the top tea salons in the city, the restaurant serves a five-course tea with all of the trimmings: scrumptious finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jams, and an impressive array of teas. The 19th century architecture and décor add to the quaint atmosphere. The chic Cibar Lounge is a glamorous cocktail lounge where stylish patrons can indulge in a long list of inventive martinis, classic cocktails, and delicious appetizers. The sophisticated décor includes fireplaces and a serene bamboo garden.

Hotel Features
The two brownstones that form the basis of the Inn at Irving Place were constructed in the mid-1800s, but the property made its debut as a hotel in 1994. In between, the brownstones served as single-family homes, apartments, the Ingersol Men’s Club, a speak-easy, and a beauty parlour and day spa.

Meetings
The Inn at Irving Place offers a meeting room that can accommodate up to 70 people for a cocktail reception, board meeting, conference, or banquet. In addition, Lady Mendl’s makes an elegant backdrop for private parties.

Location
The Inn at Irving Place is conveniently located a short stroll from Gramercy Park, Manhattan’s last remaining private park. A stone’s throw from Greenwich Village renowned for it’s bustling cafes and charming shops.
