Hotel Introduction

A fashionable address on the Upper East Side of Manhattan lands the Lowell in the middle of upscale shopping, restaurants, and class New York City experiences. But the sophisticated and serene atmosphere cultivated at the hotel is possible because it’s located on a tree-lined street that’s removed from the city’s immediate hustle and bustle.

With only 72 guestrooms, the staff is able to fully concentrate on making every detail of a guest’s stay as perfect as possible. Among the thoughtful touches, guests receive complimentary beverages upon arrival and Fiji water at turndown. Other delightful hotel services include one of the best steakhouses in the U.S., a fitness centre that caters to busy lifestyles, and a convenient business centre.

The 25 superior rooms and 47 individually decorated suites feature antique furniture, luxurious fabrics, prints from the 1700s, Chinese porcelains, wood-burning fireplaces, full-service kitchens, marble baths, Bulgari toiletries, DVD and CD players, and wireless Internet access. Eleven suites also have private terraces.

The Pembroke Room is an elegant restaurant that serves decadent breakfasts, brunches, afternoon teas, and cocktails in an aristocratic atmosphere that includes hand-painted Washington Pickard china. The Post House offers an upscale alternative for the carnivore in you. Recognized as one of the 10 best steakhouses in America by Wine Spectator magazine, the Post House specializes in steaks, chops, and seafood. The décor includes glass wine cases—a testament to the extensive wine list—as well as parquet floors, leather armchairs, 18th century American folk portraits, and huge floral arrangements.

The Lowell Fitness Centre helps guests stick to their workout regimes even while on the go. Stocked with the latest in cardiovascular and weight equipment, the large and tranquil space also includes a healthy snack station with water and fruit and a beautiful collection of contemporary prints by Louis Stettner to refresh your spirit.

Hotel Features
The Pembroke Room is a popular destination for afternoon tea, both for guests and chic New Yorkers. If offers a classic tea and a royal tea, complete with Champagne, port, or sherry. Of course, the meal includes everything you would expect—fresh pastries, scones, and sandwiches, for example—but the selection of teas is quite exceptional. The on-staff Tea Connoisseurs can create an individual tea menu from the restaurant’s extensive assortment of black, oolong, and green teas and herbal infusions.

The business centre provides all the professional tools that guests need to get some work done while away from home. For business or social occasions, in-room dining and the two restaurants provide excellent options for any gathering.

On a quiet, tree-lined street off Madison Avenue, and in the heart of New York's most exclusive and fashionable Upper East Side, the Lowell provides a unique balance of  serene privacy and un-matched convenience.
