Hotel Introduction

The most opulent hotel in the exclusive yet eclectic SoHo area of Manhattan, The Mercer was the first to offer a genuine taste of loft living in NYC. The hotel, housed in an iconic Romanesque revival building, incorporates a décor that is quintessentially SoHo, from the exposed brick walls and enclaves to the neutral hues to the hardwood floors.

While the aesthetics of The Mercer are stunning, it’s the service that keeps people coming back. Visitors are encouraged to think of the discreet, efficient staff as their personal secretaries and private concierges. In addition to impeccable service, the hotel offers a delicious restaurant and hip bar, access to a high-tech fitness club, and in-room spa treatments.

The 75 guestrooms, which are spread out on five floors, offer Christian Liaigre interiors, featuring the designer’s signature sleek, clean lines. Guests will delight in the rich leather and dark African wood furnishings, refined wooden floors, cashmere throws, and crisp linens. Moving into the marble bathroom: the spacious showers, two-person bathtubs, and toiletries from FACE Stockholm continue to captivate.

The Mercer Kitchen is a unique take on a hotel restaurant. Unfolding over two floors, the space encourages communal dining with its family-style tables and open kitchen. Prominent chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has created a menu that includes plenty of comfort food with an innovative twist: pizzas topped with black truffle and fontina, for example. The Mercer Kitchen Bar is a hip destination for hotel guests as well as cosmopolitan New Yorkers. You can sip modern and classic cocktails while enjoying an atmosphere that includes aluminum glass-topped tables and black-and-white leather seating.

A massage or facial in the comfort and privacy of your own room is the ultimate convenience, and the concierge can arrange exactly that. Guests who want to work up a sweat receive complimentary passes to the neighbouring SoHo Equinox health club.
