Hotel Introduction

The Waldorf=Astoria name has symbolized the ultimate luxury hotel experience for generations of upscale travelers. This famous Art Deco hotel, which was the brainchild of millionaire William Waldorf Astor, opened its doors in 1893 and debuted as the largest hotel in the world. It has undergone many changes over the last century, but the consistently chic, sophisticated atmosphere has remained the same.

The Waldorf=Astoria has created a city-within-a hotel, with a collection of impressive amenities. Four signature restaurants and lounges offer guests an incredible selection of high-quality food and beverages; the Guerlain Spa is a relaxing experience tailored to each guest’s exact needs; and social and business venues—second to none in this extraordinary city—offer many options.

Each spacious and well-appointed guestroom is a sanctuary of luxury and charm. Standard amenities include a marble bath, high-speed Internet access, and thoughtful details such as triple sheeting and 24-hour housekeeping. For the ultimate Waldorf experience, choose a Tower Suite, with fine antiques and individual décor to satisfy the needs of discriminating guests.

Dining
Peacock Alley is a contemporary restaurant located in the main lobby. It offers all-day service, hosts the Waldorf=Astoria’s famous brunch, and includes a 30-foot-long bar. The Bull & Bear Steakhouse and Bar is one of the most famous bars in the city. The only restaurant on the East Coast serving the prime grade of USDA Certified Angus Beef®, it’s also renowned for its seafood and generous cocktails. Oscar’s American Brasserie delivers an elaborate breakfast buffet and extensive a la carte lunch menu. Inagiku is a modern Japanese restaurant—the first fine dining establishment of its kind in Midtown Manhattan—with a décor as exotically intriguing as its menu.

Spa
The Guerlain Spa offers every amenity guests need to shake off stress and rejuvenate their body. Clients receive a personalized consultation before every treatment to ensure that the therapies are perfectly designed to meet your unique objectives. Choose from a long list of massages, facials, body therapies, hand and foot treatments, and men’s services. Luxury fitness facilities, with state-of-the-art equipment and personal training, are adjacent to the spa.

Hotel Features
The Waldorf=Astoria has been the site of many “firsts.” Among the most interesting: the Waldorf=Astoria was the first hotel to introduce room service; Ginger Rogers appeared in the first major film to feature a hotel, Weekend at the Waldorf; and it was the first hotel to be included in the lyrics of a Broadway show—Anything Goes’ song “You’re the Top” includes the famous line, “You’re a Waldorf Salad.”

Meetings
An astounding 40 function spaces, each with a distinctive décor, are available for any social or professional gathering. From 10 to 1,500 guests, no event is too big or too small to receive the royal treatment from the dedicated event planning staff. For purely professional needs, the Business Centre offers complete solutions when conducting business on the go.

The impressive Waldorf Astoria offers an enviable Midtown location only two blocks from world-renowned Fifth Avenue and famed Rockefeller Center. This prestigious hotel is a short stroll from the Broadway Theater District and Grand Central Station.
